Primary elections are one of the most impactful ways residents of Saint Charles and Kane County can shape local leadership, yet they often receive far less attention than the general election in November. Primaries determine which candidates appear on the November ballot, and for many local offices, including those governing zoning, infrastructure, public safety, and county services, the primary is where the most meaningful decisions are made. Because turnout is typically lower than in general elections, each vote carries greater weight, giving engaged residents an outsized voice in determining who represents their community.
